Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has filed a lawsuit against Hannah Bowlby of Stone County, alleging that she defrauded consumers through her now-closed children’s clothing business, The Cozy Pozy Co.
“Missourians work hard to provide for their families, and they deserve better than to be scammed by false promises,” said Attorney General Bailey. “When businesses take money and fail to deliver, we will hold them accountable under the full weight of the law.”
According to the lawsuit, between April and October 2024, Bowlby is accused of violating the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act. The suit claims she used deception and misrepresentation to obtain pre-orders for children’s clothing that were never delivered. Despite growing numbers of unfulfilled orders, Bowlby allegedly continued accepting payments from customers, made assurances about order fulfillment, posted misleading updates on Facebook regarding the company’s financial status, and promised refunds that were not provided.
State records indicate that The Cozy Pozy Company was registered as a Missouri corporation but was administratively dissolved in August 2024 after failing to file a required registration report. By October 2024, with many customer orders still outstanding, Bowlby reportedly closed the business and stopped communicating with consumers.
